• Things.

Well, I suppose I could get a little more specific than that.

• Ankle is mostly better. It's still somewhat weak, but then I have weak ankles in general, and I don't see that changing anytime in the future, so it's not exactly a big change.

• I've been going to the gym (at my school) with the Boyfriend every other day (because it's pretty convenient for us to go after my early morning classes M/W/F) and I've been walking on the treadmill while he does... real workout things. (I got a new brace for my ankle which I've been sort of alternating wearing. It's a good brace, but it makes my shoes fit weird, so.) It's not so boring for me to walk since I have a Kindle, and I've discovered that it's light enough for me to hold up while I walk. It's actually a pretty productive place to read. And also I get exercise. Which I need. I was walking for just an hour each time, but today I discovered that I can walk five miles in 85 minutes (at a not terribly fast pace). This is encouraging. I think I could probably work my way up to five miles in 75 minutes, so that is my goal for the next little while.

• Today I actually went and walked with my dad, who wanted to walk a set distance, rather than a set time. Hence the shift in my routine.

• Speaking of injuries I have done to myself, though, my left knee is being all achey and bad. I thought I might have hyperextended it the first time I was on the treadmill, but I think it's more likely that the joint and muscles aren't used to the exertion. I was keeping it wrapped while I did my walking, but I think I'm going to leave it unwrapped next time and see what happens.

• I finished both of Deborah Harkness's books, but I didn't manage to make myself read anything I said I was going to read. I started both Black Heart and Storm Front (and both are good) but I wasn't hooked enough to keep going at the moment that I started them. (This happens pretty often. I tend to choose my books based on how I ~feel.) I ended up blasting through Patricia Briggs's Alpha & Omega prequel, which was short and sweet. On the other hand, Wednesday's workout reading material was another chunk of The Wolf Gift (which has finally gotten interesting!), and today's was Outlander (which I guess I'm finally getting around to). On the other hand, I did get my hands on a couple thousand books today (for my Kindle, obviously) so I have a whole bunch of things I could read, now.

• I dyed my hair black again for the first time in almost a year, and the color seems to be staying this time. Which is good, because I was afraid my hair had grown immune to black dye. The color isn't quite as vivid as I would like, so I'll likely try a different brand and all that in a couple of months when it's time to do it again, and some color still comes out every time I shower, but it seems to mostly be staying. And it's slightly ridiculous that that I am surprised and happy when hair dye does what it's supposed to do. What even.

I think there was more I was going to write about, but I've forgotten it and I'm tired. Thus, that's all for now!

• Last night I got a package from [livejournal.com profile] oduinn which contained two spoons from Prague (including one that says, "Czech Me Out!" which is hilarious) and a "Keep Calm and Carry On" advice book, the credit for which he gave to [livejournal.com profile] girasola. It was a good start to a good night.

• I spent several hours last night RPing a Cesare/Lucrezia thing with [livejournal.com profile] girasola which is, um, maybe our second het RP ever. But it's also kind of the hottest thing we've written in whiles. Oh my. (/fans self) It's also kind of AU history, since both of us sort of decided we were too lazy to research the actual history, and we wanted to screw around with things anyway. It's awesomely fun.

• Last night I dreamed again that I was in a relationship with a girl. (Will write about the first dream about that next.) This one wasn't all that specific, I just knew that I was in a relationship with a girl, we were living together, and I think I was bringing groceries home. :/

• Two nights ago I dreamed that I was in a relationship with a really sweet redheaded girl named Kate. She was awesome. And also possibly magical. I spent a good portion of the dream freaking out and running around trying to figure out where she had disappeared off to. Then she poofed back (from another dimension? who knows?) and I was happy again. The last little bit of the dream was us looking at apartments in NYC.

• My usual hair dye (Revlon Colorsilk #12 Blue Black) went up $1 at Target (which, considering that it was $2.99 to start with, isn't terrible) but Revlon now has a Colorsilk Luminista (#105 Bright Black) which is only $2.99. It also has no ammonia in it, claims to give good shine and might be a bluer black than the one I was using, which is my preferred highlight coloring. So. I got a box, and I hoping for good results. (Also, I lol'ed at the fact that the Amazon listing for the thing I got at Target for $2.99 is $4.49.)

• Went to a student Passover Seder at a Tutor Emeritus's house Tuesday. It's usually a potluck/cook-using-his-kitchen/bring-groceries. It was fun. I facilitated, more than participated. Mostly because I am not particularly observant of Passover. I like my bread. The first thing I did the first day of Passover was eat a bagel. :) My dad gave me a dirty look as I happily munched on my bagel while he drove me to school.

• I got a "Keep Calm and Carry On" mug for $4.99 at TJMaxx this afternoon. I am pleased. I need a "Keep Calm and Carry On" icon. Note to self.

• I has a Blackberry! I... can't figure out how to change the wall paper on it. But! I have my preferred ringtone—Up Is Down from the PotC: At World's End soundtrack—and I have the Facebook app, and I have the Twitter app. I... mostly have no idea what I'm doing. Cheers!

• I have a new hair cut. Guys. It's adorable. Seriously. It's possible that I have never looked cuter in my entire life. Pictures are surely forthcoming—because, you know, the ongoing saga of Sky's hair is something to keep track of here. (Also, said hair cut was $7 because it was technically considered a trim.)

• I also have a beautiful new pair of earrings and a blue opal ring, because it's Indian Market Weekend here in Santa Fe, NM and since it's the last day, most things were really cheap. But they are totally stunning.

• Hah. And then I took a new picture for Facebook, so you all get to see it too. New hair cut! )

• I have 300 or so words on my Covert Affairs fic. I'll probably work on that more tonight and tomorrow. I am enjoying it, though. :>

So, I cut my hair the other day. Nearly a week ago, if you want to get specific. But I never got around to taking pictures until today.

So, without further ado... What Sky did to her hair this time. )
