• LJ's problems the last few days have made me cranky about LJ. I thought about moving to my Dreamwidth and having my entries crosspost here, but I am just too attached to LJ to leave it completely like that. I'll probably start using my DW to post fic, though. (ETA: Still thinking about moving over and crossposting, as it seems like a few people I know might be doing that. Will have to see.)

• Speaking of fic, when I said I'd abandoned my fic writing in my last entry, I was somewhat hasty in that conclusion. As I am back to my Narnia AU and my trekreversebang fic. Second round of claims for trekreversebang were last night (since I missed the first ones entirely), and I got my first choice art. Guys, it might not be a slash story. Gasp shock! We'll see what I feel like doing with the art. Still, I am excited.

I've got a complete outline of my Narnia AU (though I think I'm missing a section, which will require me to watch Voyage of the Dawn Treader this weekend to figure out where—I know, such a hardship, hah) which is awesome. I might even be able to complete it for au_bigbang. Fingers crossed, I guess.

• Paper from last week is "finished." By which I mean, it was handed in, though I think if I had another week to work on it, I might have been able to iron out my ideas about what I was trying to say a little better. (Pff, who am I kidding? A year on that subject and I might not have been able to figure out what I thought.) Still, it's been handed in, and while I know that the paper wasn't my best, I know several people who still haven't handed their's in, so I feel good about that. And if I have a good oral on my paper, my tutors might forgive me for how under-explained my paper is. :/

• My Tangled DVD arrives tomorrow! I am super excited! I'll get to watch it this weekend!

• Possibly I will also watch Star Trek again. You know, for "research."

Aaand now I am off to get a little bit more of a headstart on my seminar reading for tonight. Montaigne essays. Whoo.

• LJ, you suck. No really, you really suck.

• Bit the bullet and signed up for au_bigbang with my Prince Caspian fic, the plot of which I fleshed out a little during my last class today (instead of paying as much attention as I should have been, but we weren't going over anything new, so). About four sign-ups above me was someone else with what I suspect is a similar idea, but a different premise for it. Which is both exciting and annoying. On the other hand, it means if I have to drop that at least there will be one Narnia fic? Oh! And! There are also already two Hawaii Five-0 sign ups, which is kind of awesome.


More Information

• The only other fic I've worked on since last time I posted is my Kirk/Spock, which is sitting pretty at 1000 words of intro. (/facepalm) I'm actually getting to the plot now, and I suspect this is a much larger project than I originally anticipate. (Ain't that just the way of it.)

• I don't have school tomorrow! Why? Because every once in a while the faculty decides that they want to have a seminar with each other instead of their annoying students, and so they do. (Actually, it's a neat idea. Kudos to them.) But, YAY I GET A DAY OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK!

• This weekend is full of parties. Which is nothing short of awesome. Friday is a Mad Men themed party, complete with cocktails. It's a fundraiser for the Big End of the Year party that my class will be hosting, so hopefully we'll get lots of people there, with girls in classy dresses and guys in suits and ties. Then Saturday is a Disney themed party! I am super excited about this. A friend and I are considering going as the Red Queen (me) and the White Queen (her) from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. With some creative interpretations of their costumes. (Which is to say, me in a red dress and her in a white dress and cheap crowns if we can find them.) Otherwise I am going to find a top hat somewhere and go as the Mad Hatter. Either way, I think it will be awesome.
