Title: Sweet Surrender
Author: Sky
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Cedric Diggory/Harry Potter
Word Count: 231
Warning: Slash
Disclaimer: Not mine. Don't sue me, or I shall be annoyed.
A/N: Um... written in about two seconds. Hopefully the first of many more CD/HP fanfics to come. :D
Harry can’t understand why anyone would want to do this. After the first task he thought about giving up. It would be so easy, surrender always is, but he continued on anyway, completing the second task as well. Now, as he waits for the third, he wonders why anyone would do it, why anyone would want to do it.
“Why did you put your name in the Goblet?” Harry asks Cedric, his expression curious and confused.
“Well, why not?” the Hufflepuff seeker counters, giving him a smile that’s just as confused as Harry’s. He doesn’t understand why Harry doesn’t understand.
“Why would you want eternal fame and glory?” Harry inquires.
Cedric watches the younger boy, who is playing with the ties on his robes, and can’t seem to stay still. “I want to be remembered,” he says after a minute. “Not all of us have fame and glory dropped in our lap when we’re a year old.” Harry looks up at him, stung, and Cedric continues before Harry can interrupt him. “Some of us strive to never have our names forgotten, to always be remembered.”
The green-eyed boy doesn’t look like he understands, and Cedric knows he has no hope of making him understand, so he doesn’t try much longer. Instead he kisses him, effectively silencing them both, and they both enjoy a moment that only one person will ever remember.

on 2005-11-29 08:44 am (UTC)Also, could you pretty please tell me how you've done the header on top of your LJ layout...? I've been trying to get the actual text boxes to go down, but I don't know how to go about it without creating a whole new style... I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how you did it! ^_^

on 2005-11-29 09:13 am (UTC)I'm going to let Airiviel answer that question, and I will point her over here, because she did my whole layout. I think that a bunch of places that offer headers also tell you how to put them up, but I have no idea. I'll just have Air come tell you what she did. (I'm not really the complicated processes type. I'm much more of a delagator. I just get others to do things for me. And I make long winded explanations. >.>;; )

on 2005-11-29 12:08 pm (UTC)But that was so lovely, I love little seemingly unfinished things like this, I think it gives it more character!
Loved it. <3
PS. I think you wrote 'out' instead of 'our'? But I could just be on crack. XD

on 2005-11-29 08:51 pm (UTC)That said, I like this. All the more because it's distracting me from writing my own paper. I do have minor edit-twitches about minor things, but a)I used the word minor on purpose and b)it's (apparently) quickly-written in any case. So let it be.
[loves you]

on 2005-11-30 10:13 am (UTC)Haha, yeah, it was written in about two minutes before I then ran down to assembly. I hadn't any time to edit it properly. (Or else, one would assume, I would have caught all these things before...)
Glad you like!
