In which Sky muses upon things.
Feb. 23rd, 2006 07:58 pmOk. So I finished Transformation by Carol Berg today. I have to admit that, despite being very cute at the end, I was a little disappointed. Yes, the main characters are two men. Yes, they care for each other by the end of the book. But they aren't sleeping together. By the next book, they both are married. To women. Who they do love and sleep with, apparently. Even me, ever the slasher, can't seem to make myself find the slashy yum in that. I mean, I could invent it and write fanfiction... but... no. It's just not there.
I've heard good things about this series, so maybe in the second book? (I am trying to not get my hopes up. I bought the book this afternoon on my way home, and I am 9 chapters in.) But they have just been reunited. Yay. =)

Interestingly, I've felt pretty unproductive lately. This was triggered by the fact that a friend of mine recently finished recording her first CD. She's younger than I am. But she's already gotten farther in accomplishing her goal than I have in mine. That makes me feel horribly lazy.
So I'm forcing myself to retype the things that I lost when I lost my USB drive. (And thinking about it, I just remembered something on it that I don't have in hard copy, because I kept forgetting to print it. Argh. I have most of it, just not the important changes and additions. Bleh.) I have to hand in some of the things soon as they were school assignments, but the fact that my teacher told me today that he hadn't even really started reading our things and planned to start this weekend and probably wouldn't even finish half of them and not to worry about trying to get them in by tomorrow but to get them in soonish, is not helping my habitual procratination. But I am forcing myself to do it now.
(Just a note to those who lose things and then have to retype them from a hard copy, the only good thing is that you can make the edits right into the document. Which is kind of nice. I made this short story longer by two pages already.)
(You all should buy her CD to support her. I want her to be successful, because she's good.)

Also, Lena, you are an ANGELGODDESS. I have so much lovely music now. I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying Loreena McKennitt's "The Lady of Shalott." It's inspired me to dig through Authurian legend and see if there's something I can tweak or something to make a story out of. (By which I do not mean I am going to blaspheme the glorious legends.) It also inprired me to go art hunting online, as I wanted to see the painting again. And I found some interesting stuffs. So, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
