In which Sky makes her monthly post.
May. 11th, 2010 11:17 pmIt's been one month and one day since I last posted. Yikes. Sorry guys. I do still read all your posts though (even if I don't comment). I just don't feel like I have a whole lot to say most of the time. But, since some of you guys care—:P—I'm making a post to tell you all what's up with me lately.
Uh, please put up with this post somehow. You can mostly ignore the asterisks. They just kind of denote things that I reference/will mention later in the post/show that I'm a crazy obsessive geek. =D
Oh god. So many stars.......

• School is over in a week from this Thursday. I still have two papers I need to write. I... should probably be doing that now, but I'm importing music*. But after those two papers, I am home free! Summer will essentially commence at 11:50am, Thursday May 20th. That's when I'll walk out of having my semester evaluation, and even though I technically have one more class after that, it's my favorite, so I'm not worried about slacking off. This summer is going to be awesome.
• Going to be working full time starting May 24th, but then I drop down to 24 hours per week after June 17th, as the other receptionist gets back from her vacation then. Still, it's a good amount of money, and I am looking forward to have something to do. (You know, other than all the goals I have for this summer.**) I'll be living at home with my mother and my kitty, both of whom I have missed lots.
• *Decided today that since I like classical music, I should raid my dad's 6,000+ CD collection for some good stuff. Spent some time with him combing through what were once organized CDs and brought back approximately 40 of things that I wanted to hear and some suggestions from him. So far nothing I don't like. Pretty soon I'm going to need a new external hard drive to move some stuff off my laptop so that I can make more space for more awesome music.
• **I have plans for this summer. Like knitting more, keeping up with my ancient Greek, making a quilt, writing 4-5 short stories*** and doing some writing with Mira (too many novels planned, not enough writing being done on them), keeping up with my exercise routine****, teaching teach myself to read tarot better, reading books (!!!), and... going to Ireland*****. Whoo! I am ambitious. But really this is all stuff I do in my free time anyway, so I don't think I'll have too much trouble making myself do the things I enjoy doing.
• ***There are a bunch of erotica anthologies that I would like to write stories for and submit to. I want to do more writing in general, and I want to submit things to be published. And I enjoy writing erotica. So it's a win/win situation, really. :D
• ****I've started doing 15-20 minutes of yoga/ballet stretches/general exercises in the morning (when I don't have a 9am class, because then I usually come back and do it after class) and in the evening, in the hopes of sleeping better than I have in the last three weeks. So far the results are ok? I slept pretty well last night and the night before, and I only started this routine about a week ago. So I'm hopeful. I'm also hoping to, you know, keep my body healthy after the crappy diet of crappy food I've had here at school******. And regain a measure of my former flexibility. So I'm feeling pretty good about that.
• *****Ireland, guys! Super excited. Going to see a friend, going to see a school or two, going to have fun in general. I am so glad that I am still going to make it there this year. I was sad that I couldn't go over spring break, but summer is good too! Here's hoping the Ash Cloud of Doom isn't still screwing with air travel by then. Excited!
• ******Planning on living off campus next year. I can't continue eating the food (or not eating the food as the case may be), and I'm paying way more than I need to be. Off campus I could be paying as little as one third of what is being charged to my parents and me. Even a place I would consider "expensive" is probably still one half of what we're being charged. And I will have a kitchen! Where I can make my own food! And a car! I can't tell you guys how much I am looking forward to this.
