I saw Van Helsing yesterday.

There were elemments of good, and elements of "OMG, WTFF?"
ATTENTION: THE NEXT COUPLE PARAGRAPHS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR VAN HELSING. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, AND DON'T WANT IT TO BE SPOLIED FOR YOU, SIMPLY DO NOT READ AN FARTHER. THANK YOU.
On the other hand, Dracula, was AMAZING. I loved his "Love me, please?" complex. It gave him character. And a reason for being evil. Well, that and the fact that like... he is is evil itself practically.
And that whole thing with Dracula alluding to Van Helsing being the Angel Gabriel? "How does it feel to be the left hand of God?" I loved it.
Of course we get no answers because the filmakers said to themselves, "Wait! We can't give them all the answers! We are going to make a bad sequel which will almost answer the questions, but won't!" I'm telling you, the way that movie was made was made for sequels.
And Ana died. Which leaves sooooo much open to fanfiction writers. This movies doesn't make anything particularly hard about writing fanfiction. It leaves so much open.
Why did Velkan have to die? Ah, because he was pretty. Can't have too many pretty people running around at any given time, now can we? Will Kemp? Sooo good looking. So good looking.

on 2004-05-09 10:25 am (UTC)And there was the whole being murdered bit. Let's not forget that. And I'm wondering if Gabriel really was an angel or something ekse entirely. And if he was and angel, why was he left to get his ass kicked and abandoned on earth, eh? *nurtures Gabriel/Dracula bunnies* *dances on Ana's
gravepile of ashes*As for Velkan. Ohyeah. Way too hot to live.

on 2004-05-09 06:17 pm (UTC)Mmmm... Garbriel/Dracula.... I love them... XD
*joins you in dancing on Anna's ashes* Stoopid annoying woman. Well, stoopid annoying HOT woman, but still.
Why are the hot people always the first to die? There aren't enough pretty people to just go around killing them... *peevish*
