I saw FAKE #4 in the bookstore the other day, but didn't have any good reason to buy it (I read it on the spot, so I couldn't justify it that way); it's a shame you didn't mention this before then!

Wherf! I have to edit this post and all... I forgot to say that it's here because my birthday is coming up...

But I hate asking people for things... so this is my not-so-subtle way of asking people for gifts... eheheh... :D

But thank you anyway! It's good to know that you care!! :D

arent there more of the vows and honor books? I know there's a book of "other stuff" about them, including a few cool stories, but was sure that there was at least another book.

Yeah there is, but I own it already. I bought it because my school didn't have it and I wanted to read it. So. :D It's good, but I like the others better.

why is it that you don't own the LHM when you know it so well already? do you only read it in libraries? I had thought that you, like me, bought your own books so that you could read them at your own speed as many times as you like.

Heheh... well you see, it only took me three days to check them out from the libray at school, and I've had them ever since. So I kinda consider them mine... only I just got a letter that says they are overdue... hrm... But I bought the ones that I hadn't read already when I was on my mad rampage to read all her Valdemar books. And since those were the first I read, I didn't buy them. Dispite the fact that they are ma favorites.

But, I am going to get them at some point. So. It's just a matter of time... >:D *cackles*

But yes that is the general idea. And the fact that I read them over and over and over and over... and so on and so forth.

Am officially babbling... :D Heh... right.

there's something wrong with babbling?

babble away! it's your journal after all. indeed it is a matter of time: I'm sure that your friends will be happy to provide your small requests, it is only something like 6:50 a book... which takes a hefty bite out of the list:) and a complete nonsequitur, but whatever: how is it that you can have a book that you love and reread many many times and yet it doesnt desintigrate on you? when I love a book I had better be prepared to buy a replacement, as after the 20th time through it gets a little ragged if it is a paperback, and even hardcovers break after enough reading. how do you read so that it doesnt break the book?

I have a feeling that that is the thing that my friends will be getting me first. Or something... oh, I hope that people decide to get different things... it would be strange to get like three copies of LHM... heh...

And I preserve my books. Like when I got Lirael I specifically didn't open it very farn so the binding wouldn't crease... *is a dork* But yeah. I prefer my books in paperback, that way they don't take up that much spce on myshelf and I can fit more of them... Except for the harry Potter books... gotta have those in hardcover.

In answer to the last line of your comment: Don't open the book very far. Enough to read, not enough to crease the binding. Heh... :D

I dont crease the binding.. the covers fall off. always. even on the hardcovers. first the corners, then the center, then the edges go and then it eats up the rest of the book. or on hardcovers the cover binding splits sligtly and then the cover pops off, leaving hte rest of the book pristine. and the paper bits of the cover are fine, or as has happened to my sabriel, the normal book is fine but the paper jacket on the cover has shuffled off this mortal coil and the rest of the book is fine!

Hrm... Dr. Astarael has no cure for that... currently. But if I think of one you'll be the first to know! :D

True but the problem is that I don't want to know what it is. I like surprises, the whole point of a gift for me, besides the gift itself, is the anticipation and suspense. Hehe... I like the feeling of not knowing what it is in the little package that I'm about to open. So yeah. :D

So very very OT

I know it's off-topic, but I was clicking through the people who were participating in the_pimp_cane's Merry Smutmass swap, and saw this post, and your list, and almost died. Hello kindred spirit! I have spent the last five years rabidly collecting (one by one) all the Mercedes Lackey Valdemar books (I reread Magic's Price over thanksgiving, oddly enough), Phillip Pullman's His Dark Material's trilogy is another fav (although I hadn't heard of Lyra's Oxford...must research), HP is obviously very close to my heart (yay smutmass), and I am a collector of almost every english ver. manga you have listed (haven't had the resources to get past vol. one of Petshop of Horrors yet...)

I know it's random, but random is fun at 5:30am, so I felt the need to share. Also, I think you said your birthday was on the 22nd? Mine's the 26th. Go figure. Anyways, enough of that, just thought I'd comment on strangeness of it all. Have a nice day!

Eheheh... Hello!

Yeah... The thngs here show all of my obsessions pretty well. I am a ML freak. I've re-read her books... well, her Valdemar ones at any rate...

Anyway, this is very cool! :D :D Our birthday's are close too! :D

Ehehehehe... *friends you*

Yay! *friends back* I know what you mean about obsession... it wasn't all that long ago I could quote each trilogy from memory... ah the good old days, when I had time to read each book over and over and over again...

For the longest time I wanted my very own hawk after reading about the tayledras and their bondbirds *sigh* ah well, one day. :)

I tried to dye my hair white. It came out blonde though. But that's ok. :D I wanted to be Tayledras so badly. I think that would be so cool.

And I can't really quote the books, but I can tell you just about anything... The Valdemar Companion is like my bible. :D

too true... and I love being able to check back and match details (the stuff with Mornelithe Falconsbane and his memories of his previous incarnations was especially cool - I read that trilogy before any of the others, thus when I read the Gryphon's trilogy and the Magic trilogy, a bunch of stuff clicked)

Anyways, gotta run ... pesky classes. ^_^

Ehehehe... yeah the same here... I read Mage Winds somewhere in the middle, but Grypons last about. It was all good. :D
