So, um, apparently I can do nothing about this whole phone thing right now. Since I'm not on the account with enough access to it, I can't buy the phone and sign the contract myself. Which means that unless my mother can do it in the next, say, 10 minutes, and I can walk down there again and they can help me all in the next hour, I won't have a phone for the next few days. Which makes me annoyed and irritable. >.<
In other news, I still have not received housing information from my college, and thus they have one more day to get it to me before I call and be pissy at them for it. I mean come on! I'm supposed to be moving in in TEN DAYS. (Yeesh, I might add. Yeesh.) You'd think they would get the information to me about WHERE I'm moving in TO before now. But then, they didn't give me the financial aid info until the Friday before the Monday I had to decide what college I was going to go to. So maybe this whole "give our students info at the last minute" thing is just what my college does. ...if that's the case, I am going to raise hell for the next four years. >.<
(Ooh, look, I used the same emoticon after both paragraphs.)
Another things about not having my phone is that I can't get in touch with my optometrist about sending me my contacts. The post men who deliver to Lauren's house are idiots, and didn't even TRY to deliver things, as we were THERE the whole time, and yet I still got one of those damned slips that says they tried to deliver the package and failed. WTF. So they returned my contacts to the sender. So now I have to call her and tell her to wait a bit and I will give her the address of my dorm–when I finally get it–and she can just send them there.
Speaking of stupid postmen though, they also failed to deliver my Amazon package, even though, once again, THERE WERE PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE. *headdesk* So I probably have to call Amazon and tell them to hold the package and then to send it with the rest of the things (there was one thing that hasn't shipped yet) and that they should send it directly to my dorm as well.
Gah. I hate the mail system sometimes.
On a slightly more cheerful note.......... nope. Never mind. I got nothing.

on 2006-08-15 03:13 am (UTC)Mail in NY must be different than mail here...whenever my Amazon packages come, if we're not home (or if we don't answer the door), they just leave the packages on our front doorstep. I guess in NY there's a higher chance of packages being stolen.
