Today's College Update (because the mail came before I left, thankfully):

-Franklin & Marshall: Waitlisted

So, the question is: Should I accept the place on the waitlist just to keep my options open? I'm 97% sure I won't go there. I don't really want to. If I end up in PA, it'll be at Allegheny. So should I accept the spot?

If you're positive you won't go there -- what's the point? You're accepted into several other lovely schools that you like a lot. It's a waste of their time & yours & a waste of a spot that another student would dearly like to have.

That's pretty much my thoughts. I think I shall have to decline the offer for said spot.

Thanks, by the way, for your speedy response with exactly what I needed to hear.

Ahaha, well I just got home so your post was pretty well timed. At any rate, I went through the same decision last year & it only made it harder to decline at the end when they offered me a whole sack of money off of the waitlist. C'est la vie, I wouldn't have liked Smith anyway!

Well, I figure it that they aren't going to offer me anything better than Allegheny already has. If they waitlisted me, then they don't want me that much. So yeah. I'll stick with the places that actually want me.

But. Smith. Dude. I think my college counselors said I should check it out. And I was like, "Ehrm, no thanks."

*goes to look at her old list* Yeah, they suggested Hampshire, Smith and Mount Holyoke. All of which I passed on. None are really in a place I wanted to be. Oh well.

I really liked Smith, but it's a little too small & a little too structured for my tastes. & while I love Queer culture, I would have been a HUGE lesbian whilst there & girls are just TOO dramatic. Boys are so much simpler.

Yeah, I only applied to one all girls school: Mills. And that's because it's right near my second favorite city: San Fran. If I can't be in NYC, San Fran might be really nice. Plus, I could horseback ride there. Plus, I went to an all girls junior high, and I got sick of girl drama there.

So... yeah. Decisions, decisions. Ones that I am totally not even thinking about until I hear from Lang.

What she said. I'm sure there's another kid out there who was waitlisted and this is their first choice school.

I hope things work out for you, wherever you go!

Honestly, I think you are a great person! Wish I knew someone like you when I was a senior in high school!

I know you are having problems with your mom, but I would jump for joy having you for a daughter (If I had kids, that is.) You are smart, creative, and you have already gotten into more colleges than I even applied to!

*hugs*

I wouldn't be a teenager again if you paid me the National Debt. It sucked mightily. So applause to you for getting throught The Hell Years.
