(no subject)

Grar. History papers are the bane of my existance.

Am going out to meet with _starlady_ tonight, and I'm bringing along mental_tsunami. And we both are all spiffed up and fancy and nice. And... yeah. Perhaps pictures are forthcoming, perhaps not, if there's no camera. We're going to the Society of Illustrators Reception thingum. It's going to be fun. Last year, both davekirtley and tobiasbuckell. (Though at the time, I only knew davekirtley.) I know that Dave won't be there this year, but I'm hoping to see Toby, though I haven't been up-to-date enough on my flist to know if he will be or not. (Perhaps I should check that.)

I totally just realized today that my boyfriend is coming next week. I knew it was soon, but I didn't know it was that soon. *squees happily*

Sci-fi/Fantasy people getting drunk together is the best thing ever.

Tonight was awesome. I looked cute (pictures forthcoming, though you miss the sexy heels because by the time I got home (when the pics were taken) I had given them up for comfy Cons.) as did Lauren (of whom there are no pictures because... uh... I suck?). Also, Diane's dress? So. Pretty. I have no idea if there are pictures of that though. Toby was there and it was so cool to see him again. I'm working on convincing Lauren to apply to Alpha, though I'm kinda selfish and want her to go when there's a chance that I might be there as a staffer. >.>;; But still. She writes really good stories, and I could edit it before she submitted it and I think she would have a chance of getting in. So yeah. I guess we'll see.

I think it's really funny that men there thought that Lauren and I were older than we are. Which is sort of what we were going for when we dressed (mature and sophisticaed look). But I still think it's funny that the bartender almost gave Lauren a drink. And then the manager of the place tried to convince us to come back the next night or Thurday and both of us were like, "Uh... no." It was funny though!

Um... Fun. So much fun. I almost can't wait til next year. (Holy shit! I'll be in college next year!)
