Because instead of writing, like I really, really, really should be doing, I'm poking about Amazon.com, adding things to my wishlist like crazy.

This is not productive, Sky. This is not helping any writing get done.

Bah. I have two college visits this week. One on Tuesday, to the College of Santa Fe ( where I am not applying, but I am visiting because my dad insisted upon it ) and one on Thursday/Friday to St. John's College ( which I will be applying to, if I don't get in early to NYU ) which is an over night, and I am very much looking forwards to this one. I will always have some affection for St. John's, having lived there for three years.

But... yeah. I need to study for the SATs. Again. But I can't start this until I get back to NY, and that gives me a month only to study. Ah well. This is no fault of my own; I left the books there. And at the same time, I also need to be starting applications. Air, you suck for having most of yours done. XP But again, not much I can do, as everything is in NY.

Speaking of NY, though, I should let all you out there know that I am leaving here ( "here" being Santa Fe, New Mexico ) early next Sunday. Which means? I have a week to clear out this room, visit two colleges, and pack. Which also means that I will be in NY on September 7th, for the senior meeting. ( I had a dream two nights ago that I missed this meeting and I didn't have my schedule on the first day of school. I woke in a panic, and then realized that I didn't have to get up for school, and I hadn't missed the meeting. But I still had the bejeebus scared out of me. )

Um... what's the point of this post? I'm procrastinating still, of course... >.>;;

Oh yeah. before I forget, allow me to advertise:

Kirwan Collaborations was created by [livejournal.com profile] airiviel and [livejournal.com profile] cerulean_sky.

We proudly present to you our newsletter, which includes two new short stories from each writer on the first day of every month. All stories and everything within -- characters, places, and related terms -- are created and copyrighted by Airiviel and Sky.

Click the banner above. You all should read, because we really want to know what people are going to think, and writers love feedback, no matter what type ( though we like the positive type best. ). So... yeah. Friend us, and stick around, the first issue will be out September 1st. Also, tell your friends.

Hehehe. I'll probably be advertising Kirwan like the day before we post, and the day the post goes up.

I haven't finished most of my apps...I've just finished all of NYU's and bits and pieces of the common app, which I'm using for four other schools. But I haven't done any supplements, and I haven't decided yet if I'm going to use the same essay for all my apps, or write another essay or two.

I bet that if I'd sent my SAT prep book to you two days ago, you would be getting it like tomorrow or the day after... But it doesn't really matter since it's not that huge of a difference, and plus you're pretty busy not writing your story over there in SF anyway.

I really wonder whose bright idea it was to make a light brown cursor, because I totally can't see the cursor on this gray background, and I totally bet that if I had a paid account, it'd be just as bad in my journal. The cursor color should be customizable. *grumbles*

Erf, college visits. SJC is your safety, yes?

Shame on you! Shopping instead of writing your story! Of course I would never do that!

I figured I might as well start advertising, just to let people know what's happening. So yeah.

Oooh, okie. You're still ahead of me though. I haven't done any of my apps. >.<

You should send the SAT book to me in NY though, because I don't feel like carrying it across the country. (Though, I'll bet I could totally study during the long hours in the car... Hm... You could send it to me here... if you want my address, ask me when I get online later today.)

SJC is my safety, yes. Because my dad went there, and they have a reccord of accpeting people with legacy. Plus, I don't think that many people apply, so they accept like, 80% of their applicants or something. So yes. Safety.

I'm not getting online today until I've written at least 2000 words. And I started reworking that part in the other story, so I might send that to you again, too. And I'm retitling it. To what, I'm not sure yet, but yes.

Also, you should write while I'm ot online. I'll be like... the only time when we're not distracting each other. >.>

Hehe. I'm totally willing to go through all of the NYU app with you and read your answers for you and everything and help you make them better.

I have your SF address, I believe. I think I sent you presents at that address last year.

Hmm...I just feel like the time left before you get back to NY is a bit short -- like it might end up that I'll send you the package and it'll arrive the day after you've left or something. But I'm sure I can find some sort of SAT practice for you. Do you have a printer over there? Well, at least you'll have your laptop.

Actually, I was already writing. I'm almost done, and I'm going to email you and Libs my draft. I couldn't sleep at all last night, and then gave up at like 6 this morning or something around that time, and got up and did some shopping to get the urge to shop out of my system, and then I did some writing. But not sleeping at all made me exhausted -- except I just -couldn't- fall asleep. But it's all good because I just accidentally fell asleep on the couch and took a 2 hour nap (which is soooo bad because I fell asleep right after eating breakfast and wolfed down a bunch of cookies as soon as I got up, haha).

But yeah, I've been writing. Perhaps I'll get on AIM now, while I finish.

Awesome. When I actually have a draft of the app, I'll totally let you see it. :D

I got your email, so I'll look into that.

Jeez. I was up pretty late here, but I still managed to sleep. A lot in fact. >.< And then I had a piece of chocolate that my mom brought me. Bleh. I'ma get fat, eating chocolate for breakfast.

Also, not getting online now, since I haven't done ANYTHING on my story. -_-;; But! I'm gonna try to do that now.
Posted by [identity profile] airiviel.livejournal.com
Lol, you'll never get as fat as I already am. :P

Haha...I just went off to the post office with my dad, so now I have to finish my story.

Wow... I definitely didn't start doing college app stuff until after school started senior year....

She's asian.

And I say this as if it will explain everything. Which, to me and her, it does. *snnicker*

Besides, we're both applying ED to NYU, and the deadline for the apps is Nov. 1st. So yeah.
Posted by [identity profile] hobbit-em.livejournal.com
That does explain. However, I also applied Early Action at Georgetown with a November 1st deadline. IDP at Bard was later, but only by a week or two.

Yeah, I'm doing college apps.

Sort of. O:-)

Eh, I'm applying early to Evergreen. If I get in, I may just not apply anywhere else.

It ROCKS. They don't have grades, they have evaluations, and it's a gorgeous campus, and huge, but very few peole, and...

I'm applying early to NYU. Because I wanna stay in NY. And if I get in, I am totally not applying anywhere else. But that doesn't mean I don't have to do all the apps anyway. -_-;;

Ugh. I'm doing apps sorta, but Evergreen's top on the list.

This new guy with whom there is a mutual romantic interest is probably moving to NYC in a year or three - just after I leave. This is obnoxious.

Pah. Why's he have to finish up his silly law school anyway? ... NYC trumps everything. *snickers*

I whore my city out, what?

If you stay in NY, can I come visit every other month and crash with you? :-D

Awesome! *grin* Looking foward to it? ... 'cause I totally can't tell.

I'm holding out for my own tiny little apartment - then I can live alone except for all the times I have visitors!

My best friend (one of them) lives out here, but she's just going into junior year, so she can stay with me sometimes next year, and my friend Natty might be paying me a few visits, and Kali and Eowyn... if K's not out here...

*dances* I like company.

(and, of course, the ever-elusive romantic interest.)

Actually, I'm thinking of getting an apartment for my last two months in the city next summer. Thoughts?
