Darkish. Harry Potter fandom. Draco (o' course! XD).

Gardens are prettier when they bloom on their own accord. When there's no magic urging them on, when there's no magic forcing them to bloom out of season.

But it took him so long to realize that. Took him eighteen years, and countless gardens that had lost their magic despite the endless amounts of magic that had gone into them. Took losing three to the attacks. Took watching friends and family get killed in them. Took watching white flowers bloom red for the blood they had soaked up.

Or perhaps that last part had been his immagination. Heaven knew he saw things that weren't there these days. He saw friends die, again and again, thousands of times, and not be able to stop a single one.

But that was over now, wasn't it? There was no more blood being spilled for a fanatic and his idiotic cause or the savior and his crusade against the fanatic. No more flashed of green light where ever he looked.

And no one looked at him like they thought he should have died in the war, instead of their brother, sister, mother, father, husband, wife, son or daughter. As far as he knew, no one knew he was still alive.

And he was fine with that. He was perfectly willing to stay among the blooming flowers, the roses, the tulips, the snapdragons, to watch spring creep over the horizon yet again, and then one day drift into oblivion with the rest.
