All I'm saying is don't call it quits before the end of book 3. If after book 3 you're not hooked, then sure, maybe it's not your cup of tea. But Butcher definitely got off to a slow start and everyone who loves the series, that I know of, universally thinks the first two were very slow. It's as though he didn't really know how to be interesting while setting the stage, so he just set the stage.
Hell I'd almost suggest reading the wiki pages for the first two and then picking up book three.
