It's 15 days until Christmas. If I was going to do this, I really should have done it earlier. That being said, since I did it late, no one should feel hard pressed to fulfill something by Christmas. After all, it's the thought that counts. ♥

Step One: Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two: Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. My Amazon.com Wish List - Amazon wishlist is a variety. There's some books, some DVDs, a journal... and some yarn. Well, you'll see. I think I managed to keep everything on that list below $30, and I think it's a a DVD or two that pushed me that high.

2. Bath & Body Works, Black Amethyst stuff. My boy might not be able to smell it, but I adore it.

3. Music. No need to buy anything (unless you want to, far be it from me to stop you), just email me some zipped albums. Loreena McKennitt has a new album out (her Christmas one) and so does Enya. I still don't have the music from the 2006 revival of Company. Or the P.S. I Love You soundtrack. And when it comes right down to it, I'm missing more than half of Imogen Heap's albums. I like Celtic stuff most of all, but I'll take what you want to give. :D

4. LJ paid acccount time. I can always use this. I opted not to get a permanent account this time ($175 I didn't have) but that means I'll have to keep paying until the next time they have a permanent account sale (in 4-5 years).

5. Moleskine journals. Medium size (5x8.25, and large size according to their website), lined, if you please. Thick or thin, colored or not, doesn't matter as long as they're lined. (Also, they are the only journals I can guarantee that I'll love as gifts. I'm just way too picky about them otherwise. ^^;; )

6. Candles. I love them. I definitely need more of them.

7. Jewelry. I'm female, and thus easily placated with pretty shiny things. I don't wear gold, in general, but silver is lovely. In terms of colored things–stones or otherwise–I like blues, reds, greens, purple and black. I love earrings. You can always be safe with earrings.

8.a. Art prints. Specifically John William Waterhouse. I already have the "Lady of Shalott" and "Miranda and the Tempest," and I would love prints of "'I Am Half Sick of Shadows,' Said the Lady of Shalott," "Psyche Entering Cupid's Garden," "La Belle Dame Sans Merci," or "Spring." (Well, most anything, but those are good places to start.)

8.b. More art prints. Stephanie Pui Mun Law, this time. I already have "Crows of Winter," "Angel," and "Two of Cups" and "The Lovers" from her Tarot deck. I won't make specific requests for this one, but instead request this: Pick one that reminds you of me.

9. Gift cards. Amazon, Gap, H&M, Bath & Body Works, KnitPicks.com, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pyramid Collection Borders, or Macys. I don't think I'm overly picky.

10. A holiday card.
