Sometimes (a lot of the time) when my dad says, "Here, listen to/look at this," I am not all that impressed. In fact, I am usually fairly indifferent.

Tonight was different.

Tonight, my dad took me to se Sondheim's Company. It's a musical, for all those people who just drew blanks. But don't worry, I am not going to go into anything that you won't understand because you haven't seen the musical or heard it or read the script.

Rarely have I seen a musical that I came away thinking, Wow, that was great, in the same way that I come out of seeing a really stunning movie thinking, Wow, that was great. In the rare cases that I do, I don't get giggly, or excited over what I just saw–it's not a concert and my energy isn't at a maximum level–but instead I get quiet. I get thoughtful.

I'll say first off, the cast is brilliant and the work the already brilliant arrangement to their advantage to make one incredibly stunning musical.

But after that, after walking out of that place with a moment to think, all I'm thinking is, Wow, that was... amazingly, staggering fantastic.

This post has no linear thoughts in it. I appologize. My thoughts aren't entirely in order anymore.
