So, i have this story about a highwayman. Basically, a highway man is a bandit who robs people on highways, and classic tropes of a highwayman story incude him falling in love, and one of them dying. (I know a bunch of people on my flist listen to Loreena McKennitt. So I will cite her song "The Highwayman" as a reference.)

Anyway. I write this story (it was posted as "His Lover's Tears Upon His Face" over at [livejournal.com profile] kirwan for our last issue) and I made it gay. Both of the characters were men.

My question is: When I rewrite the story, should I leave it with two men or should I make it heterosexual?

ETA: I've decided to leave it with the two men. Thanks to everyone who replied. :D
