The Lion in Winter
May. 20th, 2004 08:47 pmSo my dad found me a copy of a play I really like (which was made into a movie with Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole in it) called The Lion in Winter. It's an amazing comedy, revolving around Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II, King of England, and Christmas they spend together, trying to decide who the next King of England is going to be.
It's truly amazing. I just finished reading it, and the play is as amazing as the movie (which I saw first, last summer). It's truly amazing.
Not only is it amazing because of the comedy, and the fact that I love the era and the topic, but because Phillip, King of France, and then Prince Richard the Lion Heart, are gay together.
Actually. I kid you not.
And I have a sudden, and unquenchable urge to write fanfiction for this. I even have an idea. I shall have to write it up when I am not babysitting, and have a little more time, and am not trying to hide the fact that I snuck onto the computer while babysitting.
